First of all, gather all the stuff you want to display and clean the shelves so you’ll have a blank canvas. So that means lay out boxes, objects, frames, botanicals, vases, candles, artwork, bowls and other things that are of value to you. It doesn’t matter if it’s way too much for the shelves, you will end up shuffling things around so a lot of options are nice. Start with the bigger items and make sure that they’re not all on the same shelve or in the same vertical line, mix it up a little! Then it’s time to play around with the smaller items. Group 2 of 3 smaller or medium items, try to mix different styles and material to make it more interesting.
Also make sure that there is a variety in height and depth, this makes it dynamic as well. For example, place a bigger art frame at the back of the shelve and place 2-3 coffee table cooks horizontally in front with a small vase next to it. If your kids are smaller of you have a dog or cat running around, make sure that the breakable items are out of reach.
